ACCIDENT REPORTED AT K-STATE
MANHATTAN -- An undergraduate student working in a biochemistry lab on the Kansas State University campus was injured this morning just before 10:50 a.m. when a glass bottle exploded in his hand.
The victim, who had been cleaning the bottle, was transported to Mercy Regional Health Center with cuts from the shards of glass on his hands, arms, chest, legs and face.
Public safety is investigating the incident to see how this could be prevented in the future, said Steve Galitzer, director of environmental health and safety at K-State.
Police found no evidence of wrong-doing, according to Capt. Donald Stubbings of the K-State police department.
