K-STATE INTERIOR DESIGN GRADUATE RECEIVES NATIONAL TRUST SCHOLARSHIP

MANHATTAN -- A May 2007 graduate of Kansas State University has received a diversity scholarship from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The scholarship will allow Georganne W. White, Manhattan, who graduated from K-State's College of Human Ecology with a bachelor's degree in interior design, to attend the annual National Preservation Conference, Oct. 2-6, in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.

"It is great news that Georganne White has been selected as a diversity scholar for this fall's conference," said Barbara Anderson, an assistant professor of interior design.

The goal of the scholarship is to increase the diversity of participants at the conference and in the preservation movement. Each year about 60 community leaders from diverse social, economic, racial, ethic and cultural backgrounds receive financial help to attend.
