K-STATE TO BE HOST OF DIALOG ON SUSTAINABILITY
MANHATTAN -- The Consortium for Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability and its partners will host a Dialog on Sustainability Thursday, July 19, in Fiedler Hall Auditorium at Kansas State University.
The consortium is headquartered at K-State. Its administrative leadership is provided by the Center for Hazardous Substance Research in K-State's College of Engineering.
The daylong event will disseminate information on current sustainability-related activities, groups and resources, and explore opportunities for further collaboration and future funding. Featured topics will be landscape architecture and sustainability, public policy and sustainability, applications of solar and wind energy, and sustainability and economics.
The dialog also includes "Sustainable Communities" at 7 p.m. The presentation will be facilitated by Bruce Snead, energy specialist at K-State.
In conjunction with the dialog activities, Greg Norris, instructor at the Harvard School of Public Health, will present a life cycle analysis workshop at 8:30 a.m. Friday, July 20, in 1064 Rathbone Hall. Norris also is the program manager for the United Nations Environment Program's global life cycle initiative.
