THIRD ANNUAL KANSAS MASONRY CONFERENCE FEB. 4 AT K-STATE

MANHATTAN -- The third annual Kansas Masonry Conference, "Masonry -- the Material of Choice," will be Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Kansas State University.

The conference, at the K-State Student Union, is presented by the K-State department of architectural engineering and construction science and is for architects, engineers, building contractors, masonry contractors, residential contractors, skilled masonry technicians, code enforcement officials, public works officials and realtors.

The focus of this year's conference is to learn about superior building material and how to effectively detail and construct masonry to perform to its highest potential.

Featured speakers include Russell Brown, professor emeritus of civil engineering at Clemson University; Sara E. Sweeney, adjunct professor at Philadelphia University; and Ann Wolter, currently a nationwide consultant to masonry associations and a leader in the effort to develop the industry's first comprehensive Web site, http://www.MasonrySystems.org
