K-STATE BUSINESS AND HOSPITALITY FAIR FEB. 19

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University's Business and Hospitality Career Fair will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the K-State Student Union Ballroom.

More than 80 employers are expected to attend the fair, which is an increase from years' past, according to Jennifer Brantley, assistant director of employer relations at K-State career and employment services.

"We have record numbers of employers interested in attending this year's fair," Brantley said. "Companies have been willing to be placed on wait lists to recruit K-State students at this fair because our students are known to have a great work ethic and are prepared to enter the work force."

Representatives from each employer attending the fair will be available to answer questions about internships and/or full-time positions with their companies. Some employers will be offering next-day interviews Wednesday, Feb. 20. Brantley said it is important for students to bring multiple copies of their resumes as well as business cards with their current contact information. Students also must bring their student ID in order to register at the fair.

The Business and Hospitality Career Fair provides many opportunities for both employers and students, Brantley said.

"Employers enjoy attending career fairs because it gives them a snapshot of who is interested in their company," she said. "For students, it is a good time to start researching companies and networking with recruiters in order to get an internship or full-time job opportunity."

Students should wear professional business attire; suits are encouraged. More information on the Business and Hospitality Career Fair is available by calling career and employment services at 785-532-6506 or online at
