KRISTINE YOUNG TO FILL ACTING SPOT LEADING K-STATE INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
MANHATTAN -- Kristine Young has agreed to serve as acting associate provost for international programs at Kansas State University, effective immediately.
Provost and senior vice president M. Duane Nellis said an accelerated internal search will begin this week to fill the post on an interim basis until a national search can be completed.
“I am in the process of putting together a search committee to select an interim associate provost for international programs and hope to have that committee in place soon,” Nellis said.
Young fills the post of Ken Holland, who had been associate provost for international programs since August 2003. Holland has accepted an administrative position at Ball State University.
“K-State appreciates Dr. Holland's efforts in facilitating our international programs including increasing students studying abroad, the number of international students studying at K-State, and the amount of external funding supporting university international development work,” Nellis said.
“I am confident that Dr. Young will do an excellent job in her acting administrative role as we continue to work toward building ever stronger programs in the international area at K-State.”
Young joined K-State in January 2007 as administrative director, office of international programs. She earned a bachelor’s degree from K-State, a master’s from Ottawa University, Overland Park, Kan., and a doctorate from Spalding University, Louisville, Ky.
