K-STATE'S
DAN THOMSON RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD FROM KANSAS VETERINARY
MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
MANHATTAN
-- The Kansas Veterinary Medical Association has presented the
Kansas State University Distinguished Service Award to Dr. Dan Thomson,
assistant professor of clinical sciences at K-State's College of
Veterinary Medicine.
Members
of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association give the award to a
faculty member at the college who has given outstanding clinical
and diagnostic service.
Thomson
also is the recipient of the 2006 Jones Professorship and the 2005
Novartis Excellence in Teaching Award. He earned a bachelor's degree
in animal science from Iowa State University, a master's degree
in ruminant nutrition from South Dakota State University and a doctorate
in ruminant nutrition from Texas Tech University. He earned a doctorate
of veterinary medicine from Iowa State. Thomson's research interest
is in the interactions between production management, environment
and nutrition on the health and performance of beef cattle.
Thomson
is from Riley.
