K-STATE'S
ADVANCED MANUFACTURING INSTITUTE EXPANDS INTERN PROGRAM
MANHATTAN
-- The Advanced Manufacturing Institute at Kansas State University
has expanded its intern program to include students from business,
journalism and mass communications, architecture, and interior architecture
and product design, as well as more graduate students.
The
institute's internship program provides K-State students the opportunity
to gain hands-on experience by working with experienced professionals
on client projects in technology development, engineering, manufacturing,
marketing and commercialization.
"Adding
students from other academic disciplines has allowed us to increase
our impact at K-State as we can now provide more students hands-on
experience," said Brad Kramer, director of the Advanced Manufacturing
Institute. "Students that participate in our program are more
knowledgeable and productive upon graduation and are sought after
by employers."
This
semester, 40 K-State students have been selected to work as interns,
including:

Banks, senior in mechanical engineering, Atchison; Arlen
Walker, senior in mechanical engineering, Atwood; Jared Koch,
junior in mechanical engineering, Axtell; Erin Hudson, junior
in hotel and restaurant management, Buhler; Dean Herl, senior
