EMPLOYERS
COMING TO K-STATE TO INTERVIEW ENGINEERING STUDENTS FOR JOBS, INTERNSHIPS
AND CO-OP OPPORTUNITIES
MANHATTAN
-- Engineering students at Kansas State University will get the
chance to meet with more than 100 employers looking for future employees
in all engineering fields.
The
Engineering Career Fair will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.
13, in the atriums of the K-State engineering complex. The fair
is bringing to campus 118 firms -- 30 percent more than last year
-- in engineering and technical fields. Representatives will be
on hand to speak with students about career, internship and co-op
opportunities.
Employers
attending the fair include Black and Veatch, Exxon Mobil, Archer
Daniels Midland, Cerner, Garmin, Lockheed-Martin, Raytheon, Burns
and McDonnell, Turner Construction and Kiewit Company.
"The
number of prospective employers wanting to come to campus to interact
with our students speaks highly of the skilled engineering, computer
and construction science majors that graduate from our programs,"
said Richard Gallagher, interim dean of the College of Engineering.
"We take seriously the responsibility of maintaining that reputation
in the world of business and industry."
Students
attending the fair are asked to dress professionally and to bring
their student IDs and multiple copies of their resumes.
More
information about the Engineering Career fair, including a complete
list of participating employers, is online at http://www.k-state.edu/ces/
Students
serving on the Engineering Career Fair Committee include: Dean Herl,
senior in industrial engineering, Colby; Anna Troeh, fifth-year
senior in architectural engineering, Kansas City, Kan.; Andrew
Burch, junior in chemical engineering, Overland Park;
and Peter Robl, senior in industrial engineering, Salina.
