PRESENTS PULITZER-PRIZE WINNING DRAMA IN NICHOLS THEATRE
MANHATTAN
-- Kansas State University Theater will present William Inge's
Pulitzer-Prize winning play, "The Dark at the Top of the Stairs,"
at 8 p.m. Feb. 8-10 and Feb. 14-17 in Nichols Theatre.
Loosely
based on the retelling of Inge's youth, the play takes place in
Oklahoma in 1925 at the home of the Flood family. While "Dark"
presents serious subject matter, it is also infused with humor.
"The
play explores the question of where do we -- or can we --
find solace and our 'place' in the world," said Michael Gros,
director of "Dark" and assistant professor of theater
at K-State.
Peter
Ellenstein, director of the William Inge Theatre Festival and former
producing director of the Los Angeles Repertory Company, will be
conducting a talk-back session in Nichols Hall immediately following
the Feb. 15 performance. The event is open to the public.
Tickets
are $8 for K-State students, $11 for military and $13 for the general
public.
To
order tickets, call 785-532-6428 or visit the McCain box office
