INVITING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN DANCE TO SPECIAL WORKSHOP
AND OPEN HOUSE FEB. 2
MANHATTAN
-- High school students from across Kansas and throughout the region
have a chance to experience Kansas State University's dance program
firsthand.
K-State's
High School Dance Day 2007 will be Friday, Feb. 2, in Nichols Hall
on the K-State campus. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. The event
is open to all students in grades eight through 12.
"If
students attend our event, they will receive a full day of dance
classes from all dance faculty," said Julie Pentz, assistant
professor of dance. "They will have an opportunity to meet
current students majoring in dance, and parents and guardians will
have an opportunity to sit down with a financial aid representative."
Students
attending the High School Dance Day also can audition for a talent
scholarship and see performances by K-State dance students.
Registration
is $10, and the deadline to sign up is Friday, Jan. 19. Although
the deadline may be extended, Pentz encouraged interested high school
students to sign up early, as spots fill quickly. For more information
and to register, visit http://www.k-state.edu/sctd/dance/danceday.html
