THREE
K-STATE STUDENTS NAMED AGRICULTURE STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
MANHATTAN
-- Three Kansas State University students have earned Student
of the Month honors from the College of Agriculture.
Criteria
for the award include honors that the student has received, a one-page
resume, activities, grade point average and a short essay.
Clint
Blaes, a senior in agricultural communications and journalism, Cherryvale,
is the Agriculture Student of Month for December 2006. Blaes is
the editor of the Kansas State Agriculturist for spring 2007. He
also is a Kansas Farm Bureau Legislative Fellow, vice president
for administration for the College of Agriculture Ambassadors, president
of FarmHouse fraternity and a student senator for the K-State Student
Governing Association.
Vincent
Hofer, a junior in agribusiness, Franklin, is the Agriculture
Student of the Month for January. Hofer is currently serving as
vice president of the K-State chapter of the National Agri-Marketing
Association. In the spring 2006, Hofer participated as a member
of the K-State team that won the national championship in the National
Agri-Marketing Competition. He also was awarded the Gamma Sigma
Delta Outstanding First Year Performance Award in 2005.
Tricia
Dicke, a senior in animal sciences and industry, Creston, Neb.,
is the Agriculture Student of the Month for November 2006. Dicke
is an ambassador for the College of Agriculture. She has received
the Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Scholarship, the Office of International
Programs Scholarship and the Leslie W. and Edna L. Beckman Memorial
Scholarship. Dicke is a member of several honor societies, including
Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Zeta, Gamma Sigma Delta and the National Scholars
Honor Society.
