MEDIA ADVISORY FOR BLAIR, MULLEN LANDON LECTURES AT K-STATE

LECTURERS: The Landon Lecture by Dennis C. Blair, director of national intelligence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, in Kansas State University's McCain Auditorium. The lecture by Michael G. Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, also in McCain.

NEWS MEDIA PARKING: Free parking is available to news media by using a K-State media parking pass, which allows parking in any non-reserved or nonhandicap student or faculty/staff space in K-State's parking lots. Please note that parking without a pass in a reserved or handicap space can result in a parking fine or the wheel-locking or towing of your vehicle. If you do not have a media parking pass, please contact K-State News Services at media@k-state.edu or 785-532-6415 several days in advance of the lecture to arrange for one. Other parking options include the K-State parking garage, 17th Street and Anderson Ave., where parking is $1.50 an hour on a space-available basis. A one-day visitor parking pass also can be purchased for $4 at the drive-up teller window on the west side of the parking garage. The pass allows for the same outdoor parking as with a media parking pass. Please allow ample time for parking.

NEWS MEDIA SEATING: Seating for media will be reserved at both lectures. Reserved seats for print media will be in the first few rows of the auditorium. A portion of the last row of McCain will be set aside for electronic media, where an audio distribution box will be available. Please contact News Services at media@k-state.edu or 785-532-6415 to reserve your seat for the Blair lecture by noon Friday, Feb. 19; and by 5 p.m. Monday, March 1, for the Mullen lecture.

CREDENTIALS: Although credentials are not required for the lectures, please bring your media identification with you in case it becomes necessary.

SATELLITE FEED: There will be NO satellite feed of video and sound bites from the lectures.

WEB ACCESS: Live video and audio streams of both lectures will be available at http://www.k-state.edu/landon

NO MEDIA AVAILABILITY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Because of scheduling conflicts and time restraints, there will be NO media availabilities and photo opportunities with Blair and Mullen after their lectures.
