K-STATE PANHELLENIC COUNCIL BADGE DAY TO HONOR SORORITY ALUMNAE
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University's 11 National Panhellenic Conference sorority chapters will observe International Badge Day, Monday, March 3, and will recognize K-State sorority alumnae for their contributions to the K-State Greek community.
International Badge Day is an annual event where sorority women across the country honor their Greek affiliations by wearing their badge or letters. The theme this year is "Wear Your Badge with Pride." The day is to recognize the contribution of sorority women and promotes the values of fraternal membership, both as a collegian and an alumna.
For International Badge Day at K-State, undergraduate sorority women will wear their chapter's badge with chapter attire around campus. In addition, each chapter will nominate an alumna who will be honored at the March 3 Panhellenic Council meeting.
Sue Peterson, assistant to the K-State president and director of governmental relations, and Amy Button Renz, president of the K-State Alumni Association, are two K-State sorority alums who have made extraordinary contributions to the K-State Greek community and to the Manhattan community and have promoted the values of fraternal membership, according to Macy Wendler, president of the K-State Panhellenic Council and a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
Peterson is an alumna of Kappa Delta sorority and has previously served as its recruitment chapter adviser.
Renz is a Phi Beta Phi sorority alumna. She also serves as the corporation president of K-State's Alpha Xi Delta sorority.
"We are proud to have support from women like Sue and Amy," said Wendler, a senior in apparel design, Shawnee. "They exemplify what we mean when we say sorority membership is lifelong. We are excited to honor many alumnae like Amy and Sue during Badge Day celebrations and to celebrate the many accomplishments of K-State undergraduate sorority women."
