K-STATE CAMPUSES IN MANHATTAN AND SALINA TO BE CLOSED DEC. 24 DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

MANHATTAN -- Due to the forecast for severe winter storms overnight and into tomorrow, Kansas State University campuses in Manhattan and Salina will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24.

In an announcement this morning, Bruce Shubert, vice president for administration and finance, said, "The safety of our employees is of utmost importance. Because the forecast calls for a severe winter storm and dangerous driving conditions, we are closing the university tomorrow."

Hale Library also will be closed.

Essential employees who are involved with housing, care of animals and campus facilities should report to work if possible. All other employees may stay home.
