K-STATE STUDENTS EARN SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY ABROAD IN THE SPRING 2009 SEMESTER
MANHATTAN -- Scholarships will help 70 Kansas State University students with their study abroad experiences during the spring 2009 semester.
The scholarships include K-State Office of International Programs Study Abroad Scholarships, which are supported by the K-State Student Governing Association, and scholarships endowed by private donors through the Kansas State University Foundation. Students receiving the scholarships are or will be studying abroad for a semester, a year or on short-term faculty-led group trips over spring break or winter break.
K-State Provost and Senior Vice President M. Duane Nellis said, "Congratulations to these students winning study abroad scholarships. As more of our students broaden their horizons by spending a semester abroad, they learn invaluable lessons about the world we live in. Expanded study abroad programs are part of our ongoing efforts to be more engaged, entrepreneurial and international as a university."
