K-STATE'S MEAT LAB UP AND RUNNING JUST IN TIME FOR HOLIDAY MEAT SALES

MANHATTAN -- Shoppers can still add a taste of Kansas State University to holiday celebrations.

K-State's meat lab is up and running after this summer's tornado forced its temporary closure. The lab is now selling a variety of meat. Selections include hickory-smoked turkey at $2.09 per pound, and hickory-smoked boneless ham at $3.09 per pound. The turkeys and hogs were raised and processed at K-State, said John Wolf, lab manager.

Gift boxes of summer sausage and cheese and a "build-your-own" box option also are available at K-State's Call Hall. In addition, summer sausage and Lebanon-style bologna, both at $3.89 per pound, and other beef, lamb, pork and dairy products, also are available.

Special orders are not being taken this year and all products are available at Call Hall. Call Hall hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, unless otherwise posted.
