BENCHMARK FINANCIAL AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO SIX K-STATE STUDENTS
MANHATTAN -- Benchmark Financial, a general agency of New England Financial and a MetLife company, has donated six $1,000 scholarships to students in Kansas State University's College of Business Administration.
The scholarships are part of a $60,000 scholarship commitment from Benchmark Financial to the College of Business Administration for the next several years.
The students were awarded the scholarships for being the top performers in a marketing management course, which is the senior level, capstone class required for all marketing majors. The winners were chosen based on points accumulated during the semester. Points were calculated through performance on exams, quizzes and the students' creation of a strategic marketing plan developed for an actual business. Fifty-four students participated in the scholarship program this semester.
Scholarship recipients include:
Sarah Heinen, senior in marketing, Downs; Erin Wetta, senior in marketing and modern languages, Garden Plain; Heather Gerstner, senior in marketing, Hutchinson; Aditi Shukla, graduate student in apparel and textiles, Manhattan; and Jordan Ayers, senior in marketing, Olathe.
From out of state: Mickenzie Brecht, senior in marketing, Edmond, Okla.
