ASK WILLIE NOW AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO K-STATE STUDENTS
MANHATTAN -- When Kansas State University students have questions or concerns, they now have a new way to get answers: Ask Willie at http://www.k-state.edu/askwillie or askwillie@k-state.edu.
Ask Willie is a new service offered through K-State's office of student activities and services, and is part of K-State's Healthy Decisions program.
"If students have a question or concern about university or personal issues, we are here to help them overcome obstacles and challenges so they can succeed at K-State," said Bill Harlan, assistant coordinator for student activities and services at K-State. "Ask Willie will be available to answer questions and provide referrals to the appropriate source or service that can provide assistance."
Harlan said the goal of Ask Willie is to help with retention of students and to ensure the university is making every effort to provide the services students need to succeed at K-State. Use of Ask Willie also will be evaluated during the upcoming spring semester to ensure appropriate staffing and effectiveness.
"Ask Willie is another great way to let our students know that we care," said Pat Bosco, K-State vice president for student life and dean of students.
K-State Healthy Decisions, of which Ask Willie is a part, is an initiative that was started to help enhance the lifestyle of K-State students and their peers. It is an effort to enrich the culture of K-State and further develop an environment where students are supported and can succeed academically and personally.
