K-STATE SIGNS SIX MORE 2 + 2 AGREEMENTS WITH COLBY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University and Colby Community College have signed six more 2 + 2 agreements, which allow students to complete the first two years of a degree program at Colby Community College and transfer credits to complete the last two years through K-State distance education.

The new agreements, signed in November, include the following programs:

* Associate degree in communications-radio to bachelor's degree in technology management

* Associate degree in communications-TV to bachelor's degree in technology management

* Associate degree in criminal justice to bachelor's degree in technology management

* Associate degree in sociology to bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary social science

* Associate degree in psychology to bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary social science

* Associate degree in history/political science to bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary social science

K-State now has 10 2 + 2 agreements with Colby Community College.

"Colby Community College has been an excellent partner with K-State in meeting the needs of the place-bound students who want to complete a bachelor's degree without leaving their homes," said Betty Stevens, associate dean of continuing education. "Colby's advisers and faculty, working closely with K-State Division of Continuing Education staff and college program advisors, will help these students understand the transfer process and plan their coursework so they can move seamlessly toward a K-State degree."
