FEMALE GRADUATES THROUGH AVIATION DEGREE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN TUSKEGEE
UNIVERSITY AND K-STATE AT SALINA: Chrystal Cole-Bridges has
become the first woman to follow in the footsteps of the famed Tuskegee
Airmen, a feat she wouldn't have been able to accomplish had it
not been for a partnership between Kansas State University at Salina
and Tuskegee University.

STUDENT WINS AWARDS AT RESEARCH CONFERENCE: Erica Cain, a senior
in microbiology, Wamego, was honored for her research on
baculoviruses and the factors that enable them to spread beyond
the midgut of the insects they infect.

University professors recently were recognized by the Soil Science

MOXLEY SELECTED AS K-STATE'S DEAN OF HUMAN ECOLOGY: Following
an extensive national search, Virginia Moxley, of Council Grove,
has been named dean of Kansas State University's College of Human
Ecology. Moxley had been interim dean since January 2006. Previously
she had been senior associate dean for scholarship and research
in the college.

BUSINESS DEAN LENDING ACCREDITATION EXPERTISE TO SAUDI ARABIAN UNIVERSITY,
BUILDING FOUNDATION FOR ACADEMIC PARTNERSHIP: Yar M. Ebadi,
dean of Kansas State University's College of Business Administration,
is helping the university strengthen its ties to Saudi Arabia and
possibly paving the way for more Saudi students to come to K-State.

RECEIVES MAJOR NEW GRANT FOR CLIMATE CHANGE EFFORT: The department
of agronomy at Kansas State University has received a one-year grant
of $1 million from the Robertson Foundation, New York, for outreach
and research efforts into the role of agricultural soils in reducing
global warming.

LONDON: Kansas State University's Hillary Glasgow, a December
2006 bachelor's graduate in anthropology, has been selected as a
2007-2008 Mountbatten Intern. The Mountbatten Internship Programme
places college graduates in a yearlong internship with an international
business in London.

the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance, to develop

interventions that can be used in the downtown Manhattan redevelopment
project, as well as redevelopment efforts in other Kansas towns.

GRAD STUDENT RESEARCHING FUNCTION OF BRACHIAL PLEXUS IN T-REX:
John Myers, a graduate student in geology, is studying a Tyrannosaurid,
possibly a species of Tyrannosaurus rex. Myers' research relates
to the functionality of the species' forearms by comparing its anatomy
to that of its modern relatives, such as lizards and birds.
