STUDENTS JOIN FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
MANHATTAN
-- Kansas State University's Alpha Chi chapter of Phi Upsilon
Omicron recently initiated 11 new members.
Founded
in 1909, Phi Upsilon Omicron is a national honor society in family
and consumer sciences. K-State's Alpha Chi chapter was established
in 1960. Phi Upsilon Omicron recognizes and encourages achieved
excellence in scholarship, leadership and service. There are 59
collegiate chapters, one international chapter, 31 alumni chapters
and more than 87,170 members living throughout the United States
and around the world.
New
members at K-State include:
Allison
Zuk, junior in communication sciences and disorders, Bonner Springs;
Tessa Fall, senior in family studies and human services, Concordia;
Tiffany Hands, sophomore in communication sciences and disorders,
Garden City.
From
Manhattan: Anne Buchholz, junior in family studies and human
services; Wen-Chi Chen, graduate student in human ecology; Kathleen
Moka, graduate student in family studies and human services; and
Jean Sanders, gradate student in human ecology.
Jaimee
Keister, junior in human ecology and mass communications, and Rena
Keith, senior in hotel and restaurant management, both of Riley.
From
out-of-state: Valerie Hill, sophomore in family studies and human
services, Lakewood, Colo.; and Brandy James, graduate student
in human ecology, Indianapolis, Ind.
