WEFALD TO UPDATE CAMPUS COMMUNITY ON TORNADO RECOVERY
MANHATTAN -- K-State students, faculty and staff are invited to celebrate tornado recovery with an ice cream social at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, on the lawn between Hale Library and Waters Hall. Rain location is Union Courtyard.
The Pride of Wildcat Land Marching Band will play about 3:20 p.m.
"K-State - Better Than Ever" is the theme for the event, hosted by K-State President Jon Wefald, who will offer brief remarks at about 3:30 p.m.
News media are invited to join Kansas State University students, faculty and staff celebrating successful clean-up efforts following a tornado that hit campus and the Manhattan area June 11.
K-State's last all-university ice cream social was in September 1986.
