ANNUAL K-STATE CANCER CENTER REGIER GOLF TOURNAMENT SEPT. 14
MANHATTAN -- Proceeds from the 10th annual Rob Regier Memorial Benefit Golf Tournament will once again benefit research and education programs of the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University.
The four-person scramble will have a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at K-State's Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan. Registration is requested by Saturday, Aug. 25, but same-day registration opens at noon.
The tournament, which has generated more than $100,000 for the center over the years, honors Rob Regier, a 1988 graduate of K-State in pre-dentistry who died of cancer at the age of 26. Tournament hosts are Regier's parents, Sandy and Les Regier, and his brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Juli Regier, all of Overland Park.
The registration fee of $150 per person includes a noon lunch and the evening awards banquet. Prizes will be awarded to top teams, hole contest winners and more.
Anyone interested in playing, being a sponsor or donating auction items should contact the cancer center. All sponsors will receive special recognition. More information and a registration form are available at online at http://www.k-state.edu/cancer.center or by calling 785-532-6705.
