'K-STATE CELEBRATES' COMING TO KANSAS CITY AREA SEPT. 12
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University is ready to celebrate and high school students from the Greater Kansas City area can join in the fun.
"K-State Celebrates" will be 7:15-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Ritz Charles, 9000 W. 137th St., Overland Park. Registration will start at 6:45 p.m. The special event is free and students are welcome to bring along their parents and friends.
"'K-State Celebrates' is a fun way for students from the Kansas City area, including Johnson, Douglas, Jackson and Wyandotte counties, to find out what K-State has to offer and why K-State is one of the top choices among Kansas high school graduates," said Tamara Bauer, K-State admissions representative. "It's also the perfect opportunity for students and parents to get a lot of useful information about K-State and choosing a college."
Pat Bosco, dean of student life, will be on hand to discuss what's going on at the university, and representatives from all of K-State's nine academic colleges will talk about academic programs and options at K-State. In addition, information about student housing, Greek life, student financial assistance, campus organizations, multicultural programs and more will be available. Students can sign up for a campus visit, and admissions representatives and K-State student ambassadors will be ready to answer questions.
Also at "K-State Celebrates," one high school senior will receive up to $500 worth of textbooks for his or her first semester at K-State.
The reservation deadline for "K-State Celebrates" is Thursday, Sept. 6. To make a reservation or for more information, call Bauer at 1-800-432-8270.
