K-STATE POLLUTION PREVENTION INSTITUTE WORKSHOP IN KANSAS CITY, KAN., TO FOCUS ON IMPROVING LOCAL AIR QUALITY
MANHATTAN -- The Pollution Prevention Institute at Kansas State University will host a Diesel Technologies Workshop and Equipment Expo Friday, May 9, at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
Designed to provide information to warehouse operators, fleet managers, truck drivers and anyone having connections to diesel fleets, the workshop will focus on reducing diesel emissions, increasing fleet fuel efficiency and improving local air quality.
The morning session, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, will be directed toward over-the-road fleets, while the afternoon session, from 1-4 p.m., will be more specific to in-town fleets.
Each session will feature idling-reduction strategies, diesel retrofit technologies, and information on resources and financing. Exhibitors will be available throughout the day to display the latest equipment available in this area of diesel technologies.
"In each session a guest speaker will address the upcoming idling-reduction regulations soon to take effect in Johnson and Wyandotte counties," said Ryan Hamel, pollution prevention and energy specialist at the Pollution Prevention Institute.
The Pollution Prevention Institute is funded in part by the Kansas Small Business Environmental Assistance Program. To register or for more information on the Diesel Technology Workshop and Equipment Expo, go to:
