K-STATE AFRICAN STUDENTS UNION SPONSORING AFRICAN NITE MAY 3
MANHATTAN -- The African Students Union at Kansas State University is inviting K-State students, faculty and staff and the public to experience a night of African food, culture and fun.
African Nite 2008, from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Manhattan City Hall auditorium, 1101 Poyntz Ave., is an opportunity to enjoy the diversity of Africa in America.
African Nite is free and will include dancing, singing, poetry, a fashion show, a talent show, an exhibition and a presentation about African ecology. Free, authentic African food also will be served.
K-State's African Students Union has members from all parts of the African continent.
"One of the objectives of the union is to create a better understanding of Africa through different events," said Daba Gedafa, graduate student in civil engineering and president of the African Students Union. "We have hosted African Nite for several years and it has been a successful way to showcase Africa."
