Paukstelis named project coordinator of University Engineering Alliance

Thursday, April 25, 2013

MANHATTAN -- Dianne Paukstelis has joined the department of mechanical and nuclear engineering at Kansas State University's College of Engineering as project coordinator for the University Engineering Alliance, a consortium of 11 universities that work cooperatively to provide distance learning in nuclear engineering.

Paukstelis will be responsible for alliance grant activities, funds acquisition, communications, marketing and public relations, and organizing the annual conference.

She was most recently the executive director of the United Way of Riley County where she established the K-State Student United Way, which was nationally recognized for excellence in fundraising, student engagement and social media. She was also responsible for founding the Schools of Hope Volunteer Tutoring program, which continues to expand and help at-risk children in USD 383 succeed academically.

Paukstelis has a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and is actively involved in the Manhattan community, having served with the University Theatre Guild, RSVP, Junior League of the Flint Hills and Rotary. She is also an active performer and can be seen on the stage in local community theatre productions.

"We are pleased to welcome Dianne to the University Engineering Alliance team," said Mo Hosni, professor of mechanical and nuclear engineering and director of the alliance. "Her experience and knowledge will be highly valuable as we promote the alliance and secure funding for its growth and expansion."
