K-STATE OFFERS DISTANCE EDUCATION GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University is making it possible for working professionals to enhance their college degree or advance in their career through the public administration graduate certificate offered through K-State distance education.

This 15-credit-hour certificate program is designed for individuals who need a public administration background for working in the profit or nonprofit sectors. The program provides professional training in organization behavior, personnel, budgeting, leadership and management.

All courses in the program are offered through the K-State Online course management system or via video teleconferencing at a TELENET 2 site in Kansas. Complete descriptions for all required courses can be viewed at http://www.dce.k-state.edu/artsci/publicadministration/

Application criteria for the certificate program include a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the junior and senior years of a degree program, and computer proficiency sufficient to complete the online course work.

Students completing the certificate program with a B average or higher will be eligible for admission as a graduate student in K-State's master of public administration program, which is offered on the Manhattan campus.
