K-STATE STUDENTS GIVE PRESENTATIONS AND WIN AWARDS AT PSYCHOLOGY CONFERENCE
MANHATTAN -- Several Kansas State University students recently attended the Great Plains Psychology Convention where they presented posters or talks and brought home awards. The convention is an annual regional event designed to showcase students' involvement in research.
K-State students, all majoring in psychology unless otherwise noted, presenting and/or receiving awards at the conference included:
From Manhattan: Neena Gopalan, Maura Mills and Michael Smith, graduate students, presented the poster "An Exploration of the Relationship Between Flow and Engagement," which took first place in their poster session. April Park and Margo Woller, graduate students, presented the poster "Investigating the Impact of Context of Performance in Dynamic Decision Making." Manpreet Rai, graduate student, presented the talk, "Memory Decay in Children and Adults Measured by the Brown-Peterson Task."
From Overland Park: Christopher Barlett, graduate student, presented the poster "Investigating the Impact of Context of Performance in Dynamic Decision Making." Scott Smerchek, junior in computer science, presented the talk, "The Importance of Scene Localization in Scene Categorization," which took second place in his session.
Christopher Vowels, graduate student, Riley, presented the talk, "Changing Sunk Cost Decisions with Heuristic-Based Training," which took first place in his session.
From out-of-state:
Elise Matz, senior, Aurora, Colo., presented the talk, "The Importance of Scene Localization in Scene Categorization," which took second place in her session.
Adam Larson, graduate student in psychology, Ames, Iowa, presented the talk, "The Importance of Scene Localization in Scene Categorization," which took second place in his session.
