K-STATE STUDENT FROM SENECA NAMED COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION'S SPRING 2007 OUTSTANDING SENIOR IN BUSINESS
MANHATTAN -- Melissa Kramer, a May 2007 bachelor's degree candidate in accounting with a minor in economics, Seneca, is the College of Business Administration's Spring 2007 Outstanding Senior in Business at Kansas State University.
Kramer will be recognized at the college's commencement ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12, in Bramlage Coliseum.
The Outstanding Senior in Business Award is presented each semester to a graduating senior who has made outstanding contributions to the College of Business Administration. A student committee composed of representatives from the Dean's Student Advisory Council selects the award recipient.
As an undergraduate, Kramer has held numerous positions including serving as a Business Ambassador, a Beta Alpha Psi officer, an Accounting Advocate and a Future Female Executive officer. Her other memberships have included Phi Kappa Phi, the von Waaden Portfolio Management Committee, Alpha Kappa Psi, the Student Finance Association, the Beginning a Promising Profession Club and Beta Gamma Sigma, where she served as an officer.
She also was a K-State Foundation Scholar and the recipient of a number of College of Business Administration academic scholarships.
"I am delighted that Melissa's peers have acknowledged her contributions to the college by selecting her as the recipient of this prestigious award," said Yar Ebadi, dean of K-State's College of Business Administration. "Melissa is the consummate student leader and has served as an excellent role model for other students during her undergraduate career."
Following her graduation from K-State, Kramer will work as an intern at KPMG in Kansas City, Mo. She will return to K-State in the fall to complete the master of accountancy program. She is the daughter of Gary and Janel Kramer, Seneca, and a 2004 graduate of Nemaha Valley High School.
