K-STATE STUDENTS SHARING THEIR TALENTS AT SPRING COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES
MANHATTAN -- Several students at Kansas State University will play a special part at upcoming K-State commencement ceremonies.
K-State commencement ceremonies for the Graduate School and College of Veterinary Medicine will be Friday, May 11, and ceremonies for the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Education, Business Administration, Agriculture, Human Ecology, Engineering and Architecture, Planning and Design will be Saturday, May 12. Commencement for K-State at Salina will be Saturday, May 5.
Students contributing to the ceremonies with musical performances and speeches include:
Lois Prochaska, bachelor's candidate in interior architecture and product design, Ada, will join her siblings in singing the national anthem at commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Monica Miller, bachelor's candidate in landscape architecture, Burdett, will be a student speaker at commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Zack Corpus, senior in music education, Dodge City, will be the tuba player in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform at commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Sarah Priest, senior in music education, Emporia, will sing the national anthem at commencement for the College of Education.
Christine Soukup, bachelor's candidate in agricultural economics, Hanston, will sing the national anthem at commencement for the College of Agriculture.
Michael Albrecht, senior in microbiology, Herington, will be the organist at commencements for the College of Engineering and College of Human Ecology.
Rebecca Ronen, freshman in applied music, Hutchinson, will be a trumpet player in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform at commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Beth Rodina, graduate student in music, Kansas City, Kan., will sing the national anthem at commencement for the Graduate School.
Justine Sterling, bachelor's candidate in agricultural communications and journalism, Kiowa, will present the reflections speech at commencement for the College of Agriculture.
Eric Abeln, bachelor's candidate in architecture, Manhattan, will be a student speaker at commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Lafe Bauer, bachelor's candidate in marketing, Manhattan, will present the student speech at commencement for the College of Business Administration.
Darren Brooks, graduate student in music, Manhattan, will be a trumpet player in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform at commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Tara Doerfler, senior in family studies and human services, Manhattan, will sing the national anthem and K-State alma mater at commencement for the College of Human Ecology.
Kevin Haynes, doctor of veterinary medicine candidate, Manhattan, will co-present the reflections speech at commencement for the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Austin Short, bachelor's candidate in applied music, Manhattan, will sing the national anthem at commencement for the College of Arts and Sciences.
James Weemhoff, doctor of veterinary medicine candidate, Manhattan, will co-present the reflections speech at commencement for the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Sharyn Worcester, graduate student in music, Manhattan, will play the horn in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform at commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Lucas Maddy, bachelor's candidate in agricultural technology management and agricultural economics, Norton, will present the student address at commencement for the College of Agriculture.
Lyle Sobba, senior in music education, St. George, will play the trombone in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform at commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Lauren Richardson, senior in professional pilot, Wichita, will present the student address and serve as student marshal at commencement for K-State at Salina. Richardson is the 2006-2007 student body president at K-State at Salina.
Theresa Kasper, graduating senior in family studies and human services, Wilson, will present the reflections speech at commencement for the College of Human Ecology.
Chandra Frost, graduating senior in elementary education, Arvada, Colo., will present the reflections speech at commencement for the College of Education.
Michelle Keeven, bachelor's candidate in interior architecture, O'Fallon, Mo., will be a student commencement speaker for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
