K-STATE'S COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION NAMES AON CORPORATION PRESIDENT, CEO 2006-2007 OUTSTANDING FINANCIAL EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR
MANHATTAN -- Greg C. Case, president and chief executive officer of Aon Corporation, was named Outstanding Financial Executive of the Year by the Kansas State University College of Business Administration's finance advisory board.
Case was selected for the honor based on his distinguished leadership role in the finance industry. He joins 17 other outstanding financial executives in the Financial Executive Hall of Fame at K-State's College of Business Administration.
Case graduated summa cum laude from K-State with a bachelor's degree in finance and has a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. He is originally from Salina and graduated from Salina Central High School in 1981.
Based out of Chicago, Case leads the efforts of more than 46,000 colleagues in 120 countries through his job with Aon Corporation, a world leader in insurance and reinsurance brokerages, human capital management and specialty underwriting services. He also is a member of the company's board of directors.
"Greg Case has achieved an exceptional level of success in the field of finance," said Anand Desai, associate professor and head of the department of finance. "As one of the College of Business Administration's prestigious alumni, he has distinguished himself as a true leader in the international business world. I am thrilled that Mr. Case is now a member of this distinguished group of financial executives in our hall of fame."
Case has outlined a three-part strategy for building Aon. His vision centers on delivering distinctive value for clients, attracting the best talent and achieving operational excellence. Since joining Aon in April 2005, Case has met with an average of 100 clients per month and more than 30,000 colleagues in many of Aon's 500-plus locations around the world.
Under Case's leadership, Aon has worked to strengthen its position as a global organization offering integrated business solutions for its clients.
Case said the establishment of Global Centers of Excellence to provide exceptional client service and the roll out of a single worldwide sales and marketing system are examples of Aon's new direction. In August 2006 the company was named the world's leading "pure brokerage" firm by Business Insurance magazine. However, Case said Aon's goal is to be recognized as the leading and most distinctive risk adviser in the world, not the biggest.
Case has nearly two decades of experience in the insurance and financial services industries. Before joining Aon, he served on the governing shareholder council and headed the global insurance and financial services practice at McKinsey & Company, a leading international management consultant. Prior to McKinsey, he worked for the investment banking firm of Piper, Jaffray and Hopwood and the Federal Reserve Bank.
