PRESIDENT JON WEFALD DELIGHTED THAT PROVOST DUANE NELLIS REMAINING AT KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University President Jon Wefald released a statement today to the K-State community:

"I want everyone to know how thrilled and delighted we all are that Dr. Duane Nellis will continue to be the provost at Kansas State University.

"Duane Nellis has done a terrific job over the past three-and-a-half years. It is very rare to find a provost as qualified, as talented, as caring, and as effective as Duane Nellis. I am very pleased that Duane will remain as our Provost, our colleague, and a great friend."

Nellis, who had been a finalist for the presidency of West Virginia University, said, "I appreciate all of the support and encouragement K-Staters have provided as I explored this opportunity. I look forward to continuing my work as provost and remain strongly committed to Kansas State University.
