Director, coordinated program in dietetics
Roni Schwartz, instructor of hospitality management and dietetics and director of
the coordinated program in dietetics, joined K-State in August 2005 after serving
as a clinical dietitian in the eating disorder unit of a Kansas City medical center
for 11 years. Schwartz has many years of experience in working with eating disorders,
both in inpatient and outpatient settings.
She is experienced in specialized nutrition counseling for people with eating disorders and appetite disorders and continues to work as a per diem PRN clinical dietitian at the Midwest Center for Eating Disorders when K-State is not in session. She also has experience in individual nutrition counseling in acute medical and psychiatric settings. Schwartz worked several years in food service management in health care settings and has been a trainer for the Child Nutrition Academy during the summers for the last several years. She holds dietetics licenses in Kansas and Missouri.
Schwartz instructs and advises dietetics students. She teaches counseling strategies, applied clinical nutrition and communication in the community settings. Her role as director of K-State's coordinated program in dietetics is to assure the educational experiences provided to coordinated program students meet accreditation and university requirements. She is also the adviser to the Student Dietetic Association on campus.
Schwartz received her bachelor's in dietetics and institutional management from K-State. She also is a distinguished graduate of Webster University where she received a master's in business administration.
