Larry MoederWith the cost of tuition on the rise, students are finding it more difficult to afford a college education. Larry Moeder  director of student financial assistance, director of admissions and assistant vice president for student life at Kansas State University assists students with finding resources to pay for college. He has more 35 years of experience in his profession. 

Moeder is knowledgeable about government funding of student aid for college students, including work-study programs and loans. He is also an expert on the scholarship application process and other procedures, policies and regulations related to student aid on the college level.

Moeder was recognized in 2005 with the Hall of Fame award from the Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. This is the highest award that can go to an individual member. He received it in recognition of his outstanding commitment to serving students. He was honored as one of the top members of his profession in 1998 with one of six national leadership awards from the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the financial aid profession at the state and regional levels.

He has been a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators for more than 35 years, where he has held many offices, including president of the Kansas division of the association.

Moeder has worked in the office of financial assistance since 1973, when he was a student employee. He was promoted to coordinator of veterans affairs in 1977, assistant director of student financial assistance in 1981 and director in 1991. He has been the director of undergraduate admissions since 1997.
