* Guest-pianist Jon Nakamatsu will present a solo recital as part of the McCain Performance Series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in All Faiths Chapel. Nakamatsu was the gold medalist at the 10th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1997. Ticket information for the solo performance is available at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain.

* "Little Shop of Horrors," 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11-13 and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, all in McCain Auditorium. With vocal direction by K-State's Amy Rosine, assistant professor of voice, the musical production features music and theater students. * The Collegium Musicum recital, 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 14, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Sixth Street and Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan. The recital includes performances by K-State's college-community early music ensemble and is directed by Thomas Bell, graduate services librarian at Hale Library.

* Performance by the K-State Percussion Ensemble, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, McCain Auditorium. The ensemble is directed by Kurt Gartner, professor of music.

* David Pickering, assistant professor of music, will present "Organ Music for a Wednesday Morning" at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in All Faiths Chapel. The program acquaints students and the general public with the organ and its repertoire.

* Students of K-State's Jacqueline Kerstetter, associate professor of music, will perform a studio recital at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, in All Faiths Chapel. The concert includes solo works by W. A. Mozart, Franz Strauss, Richard Strauss, Paul Hindemith, Alexandre Glazunov and Gordon Jacob. The K-State Horn Choir and Horn Quartet will also perform at the recital. Of particular interest is Jason Ausban's "Horn Train," which was written specifically for horn quartet and piano. In this work Ausban takes advantage of special effects that create a very train-like sonority.

* General Student Recital, 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, All Faiths Chapel. The recital includes a variety of music in a fast-paced format with performances by students from the music department's voice, keyboard, string, wind and percussion divisions.

* The Early Music Festival, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, All Faiths Chapel auditorium. The event features music history students of Nora Lewis, assistant professor of music at K-State, and the Collegium Musicum, directed by K-State's Thomas Bell. The festival will introduce a variety of musical topics from antiquity through the medieval, renaissance and early baroque periods. Following the performance, a poster session and reception will be in the McCain courtyard.

* The K-State Jazz Bands concert, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, Forum Hal, K-State Student Union. The bands are directed by Wayne Goins, professor of music.
