Information on Fellowships
and Application Fee Waivers
for McNair Scholars

The McNair Scholars Program has proven so successful at preparing students for graduate school that many universities offer special incentives to attract McNair graduates.  These incentives range from application fee waivers to dedicated fellowships.  Fellowships may be competitive, but some schools offer assistance for every McNair graduate who is accepted.

A list of these incentives is maintained by the McNair Scholars Program at the University of Rochester.  As the McNair program grows in size and reputation, more and more schools are adding incentives and competing for McNair alumni.  The list is long, but it is definitely worth a McNair Scholar's time to look through.

If you don't find a particular school you're looking for, make sure to check the "U" section, where all the "University of . . . " entries are listed.

To take advantage of these incentives, McNair Scholars at Kansas State should see Lora Boyer for a form that confirms your participation in the program.  There may be other schools offering McNair incentives that have not yet been reported, so be sure to inquire about them at every school you apply to.  Remember that Kansas State also waives fees for transcripts used by McNair Scholars to apply to graduate schools (see Lora for those forms as well).
