DOC SEVERINSEN AND HIS BIG BAND

7:30 p.m., Sunday,  Feb. 26
Live at McCain without the commercial breaks.

“Heeeeere’s Johnny!” That lead-in, followed by a big band trumpet blast, was the landmark of late-night television for decades. Now Doc Severinsen and His Big Band are on the road, consistently playing to sold-out crowds. Doc’s group has been made up of “The Tonight Show’s” best musicians (Ed Shaughnessy on drums will be on the gig in Manhattan). Their repertoire includes Ellington and Basie standards, pop, jazz, ballads, big band classics and, of course, “The Tonight Show” theme. Finally, you will be able to hear the depth of talent of a band that was rarely heard playing a whole tune on the air. And you won’t want to miss out on Doc’s outrageous outfits.

“Now I’m having the time of my life being on the road with one of the world’s all-time great big bands. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.” — Doc Severinsen
