Advanced Manufacturing Institute

History

The Advanced Manufacturing Institute (AMI) collaborates with Kansas companies of all sizes to enhance their manufacturing technology, develop new products, and increase productivity.

AMI assists in cooperative research between companies, center staff, and faculty members in integrated design, manufacturing and assembly, the intelligent processing of engineered materials and application of precision measurement and sensing in manufacturing. AMI transfers technologies and production methods to Kansas companies through manufacturing projects, video-conferences, short-courses, on-site consultations, and workshops. AMI also operates a regional office for Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center (MAMTC) that provides technical assistance to the manufacturing companies in the region.
