World AIDS Day Events 2012
November 29th
Does HIV Look Like Me? By Christina Rock
7 PM Little Theater, K-State Student Union; Hosted by K-State UPC
The DOES HIV LOOK LIKE ME? campaign was initiated in the USA in 2008, as an off-shoot to Hope’s Voice speakers bureau. The speaker’s bureau represents a group of young people living with HIV/AIDS who educate on school campuses across the US. The USA ambassadors are dynamic and diverse, and truly show that there is no single representation of HIV as it relates to young people. Some of the ambassadors were born with HIV, some infected as infants and others as adolescents and young adults. Together, they challenge assumptions and stereotypes, and have inspired a global movement of young people speaking their truth. The campaigns have come a long way, thanks to much love and hard work especially from those who were the trailblazers. Join us in welcoming Christina Rock to K-State for an emotional and educational experience on HIV/AIDS in America today.
