What you are up to now (school, work, etc)? I have been an intern in Talent Development at Sprint in Overland Park, KS since June 2011. I am there until April unless they decide to hire me full time.
Where do you live? Lenexa, KS
Favorite memory from the School of Leadership Studies? It is difficult to select just one memory. My service trip to St. Jude Children's research Hospital changed my life. However, I think my time as a class leader and President of the ambassadors made me realize I enjoy helping people succeed. Whether it is succeeding in school or succeeding in one's own personal goals. Watching the leadership concepts come to life in those roles is something I will never forget. I was on a education event at a high school and had them working on a group exercise in which one person had a picture and had to describe to the others in the group how to draw what they saw. Many issues came up and it was great to have the tools to help them see the issues and how to resolve them. After the session I was freaking out in the car about how awesome it was to see the issues we talk about in class arise and how to work through them.
What you are looking forward to the most from this organization? The ability to connect alumni together. We have such strong group of alumni that has gone untapped for so long. It will also be great to start an organization and work with people to make it the best that it can be.
What expectations do you have in regards to the alumni advisory committee (AAC)? I don't really have many expectations. That is how it goes when you are starting something new.
Anything else you would like to share: I am thrilled to part of this group and can't wait to see the WLFL group grow and make an impact.
