Currently Seeking Senior Technology Advisors

HandsOn Kansas State (HOKS) was created by the Kansas State University Student Governing Association to support volunteer and service efforts of the campus and community. Manhattan Good Neighbors (MGN) is a part of HOKS whose focus is bridging the gap between campus and community relationships. MGN promotes civic engagement within the City of Manhattan to develop educated leaders to serve the community. The Senior Technology Advisor program is a part of HOKS that collaborates with the Senior Center of Manhattan to assist elderly citizens with technology issues to help build relationships.

Senior Technology Advisors are expected to participate in a technology workshop at the beginning of the semester. Following this, advisors will make visits to the Senior Center either weekly or biweekly depending on availability. Technology advising sessions will take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons starting this upcoming February. Advisors will be given first priority to be added to our Senior Assistance volunteer list in which volunteers will have the opportunity to help senior citizens with various tasks such as leaf raking and snow shoveling on an as-need basis.
