Summer 2006 Host Site Descriptions

Jacunda, Brazil

Students worked with project P.R.A.Y. in a small community in the Amazon. The team performed various tasks at the orphanage including childcare, facility maintenance. Some of the students helped in a medical clinic assisting with minor needs.

Izamal, Mexico

Established in 1994, this was our 12th year to send students to Izamal, Mexico. Students worked at a summer day camp teaching educational lessons such as planting trees, sanitation, culture, English, and personal development.

Tampico, Mexico

Students planned multiple activities for English language learning at CASAN, a female home for troubled teens. They taught lessons on American culture, foods and nutrition, and other topics
