Amy Gasser is a junior in Elementary Education with a concentration in Social Sciences. As a Student Program Coordinator for Academic Mentoring, Amy would like to provide youth with positive role models in their life whether it is academically or socially.

Courtney Weerts is a junior from Olathe, Ks and is majoring in Social Work. As, an Academic Mentoring Program Coordinator, I plan to help develop strong leaders that will be sent into the community to help children become the leaders of tomorrow.

Alternative Breaks Student Program Coordinators

Bethany CaldwellBethany Caldwell

Bethany Caldwell is a junior from Overland Park, KS majoring in Psychology. As a Alternative Breaks coordinator, I assist in developing various domestic service sites for students during their holidays and training participants for these experiences.

Erika WilliamsErika Williams

Erika Williams is a sophomore from Topeka, KS majoring in Theater with an emphasis in performance, a concentration in Pre-Medicine, and a minor in Leadership Studies. As a coordinator, Erika's goal is to facilitate service-learning opportunities both in Kansas and across the country. She firmly believes in the mantra: "Service is the rent we pay for living". Prior to becoming a coordinator, Erika participated in a life-changing trip to Chicago through the Alternative Breaks program. She encourages you to join the Alternative Breaks if you want a truly edifying service-learning experience.

Justin Scott

Justin is a junior in Political Science and International Studies who plans to graduate from Kansas State University in May of 2013. He has been on staff with MGN since March of 2011. 

Nicole AllenNicole Allen

Nicole is from Tonganoxie, Kansas and is majoring in Animal Science with minors in Leadership Studies and Business. She plans to graduate in May and will pursue her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at K-State.

Shawna Peters is a junior in Family Studies and Human Services with minors in Non-Profit Leadership and American Ethnic Studies. Before becoming a student coordinator, I served in Mexico through the International Service Teams and also worked for the Academic Mentors program.

HandsOn Kansas State Student Program Coordinators

Ross has always been interested in serving the world around him in tangible ways; volunteer work in high school prompted an interest in service that lead him to HandsOn Kansas State. Curiosity about how people's lives are shaped by their resources and the true meaning of justice lead Ross to seek a dual major in Economics and Pre-Law Philosophy. His areas of personal interest include politics and constitutional law. He will graduate in May 2015 and will also receive a minor in Leadership Studies.

Helping and serving her community is what Alex loves to do. She is dedicated to meeting the needs of others and helping them to succeed in their goals. Alex comes from a small loving family which has taught her to always love others no matter what their circumstances are. In the fall of 2013 she will be graduating with a degree in Social Work and then plans to pursue her masters. Becoming a Social Worker has always been a dream of Alex's because she believes firmly in lending a helping hand and sharing her love with everyone to make the world a better place.
