About the Partnership

The purpose of this partnership is to benefit by encouraging and advancing teaching, research, and scholarship related to democratic engagement in areas relevant to both institutions, with a focus on community-engaged scholarship. This partnership provides a foundation upon which to build a sustainable program that benefits both institutions and makes effective use of resources and will be guided by the principles of community-engaged scholarship. The intention of the University and Points of Light campus-community collaboration is to shape an academic program that is consistent with the principles of community engagement. This campus-community collaboration will be reciprocal, mutually beneficial, and reflect an exchange of knowledge and resources.
