The award was established to recognize and celebrate the work of Founding Director of the Mary Lynn and Warren Staley School of Leadership Studies, Susan Scott, Ph.D.
Award recipients exemplify the following four qualities:
- Demonstrates leadership focused on bringing progressive change to communities.
- Personifies compassion for their community and commitment to improving the everyday lives of those around them.
- Rises above and beyond the realm of community and commitment to improving the everyday lives of those around them.
- Inspires others to carry out their call to action; their efforts pave the way for that action to transpire.
