| Many of the younger players in the Great Plains Lacrosse League did not know our first lacrosse coach here at Kansas State, but the older players remember him well. He was a coach that took a motley assortment of young athletes and formed a team; a team that on its first outing was surprisingly competitive. |

Our goal is to have a tournament that has many of the qualities that we knew in our coach: well-played, organized lacrosse; good sportsmanship; and above all, fun. He coached us because he enjoyed watching us grow from the "bad news bears" team of yesteryear to a team that played like a precision tuned sports car. Donnie instilled in us what it took to be a winning team and not a group of losing individuals. For many years to come, the Kansas State Lacrosse team will honor our past coach with a tournament in his name. The Tillar Classic is quickly becoming a highly competitive, quality tournament for teams in the Midwest.

First Lieutenant Donaldson P. Tillar, Company D, 4th Battalion, First Aviation; was killed in action on February 27, 1991, while serving in the Persian Gulf. - Team Dues for refs are $375 (total for all three games)
as they were last year, payable upon arrival in Manhattan (i.e. we're
fronting the fees, so please help us out).
- There will be two refs a game, each game
four 20 minute running quarters. We have allocated 2 and a half
hours per game to include warm up time, but we can start games earlier if teams
are
set,
especially on Saturday.
- There is a welcome party for all participants (player's
staying locally, coaches, friends, etc.) at Pat's Blue Rib'n
BBQ in Aggieville, it's an away weekend for KSU football and Pat's is a sponsor
and will
offer discounts to lacrosse team affiliates. Pat's is located at: 1200 Moro
St., Manhattan, KS 66502
- If there is a reason you'd like
to try to move a time slot please let me know now, we've tried
to have Nebraska
finishing earliest as they have the farthest to travel and
keep the Kansas/KSU game on late Saturday afternoon as the last game of the
weekend.
