K-State celebrated through the following activities:

World AIDS Day/Week Awareness Activities

AIDS Memorial Quilt
November 26 - 29, 2007
10 am - 10 pm

20-12x12 foot sections of the AIDS quilt will be on display in the Union K-S-U rooms (next to the ballroom). This is an awesome opportunity to see a large quilt display. S.H.A.P.E. was fortunate to receive SGA funding to bring the quilt pieces to K-State.

Daytime Events:

November 26 – 28:

Free HIV Testing: 2 - 4 pm in the Union.
Check at the quilt display for testing location.
Testing provided through the Riley County Health Department.

November 26 – 30:

HIV/AIDS Awareness Information table, 11 am-1 pm, Student Union

Monday, Nov. 26: Jane Fowler—65+ year old Kansas City Star reporter who contracted HIV later in life. Founder of HIV Wisdom for Older Women.

Tuesday, Nov. 27: Artists for AIDS Auction—7 pm, Manhattan’s Union Pacific Depot

Wednesday, Nov. 28: Mike DeStephano, comedian, "Wise Words from a Wise Guy"—7 pm, Union Station

Friday, Nov. 30: AIDS Concert/Poetry—7pm, Union Station

Saturday, December 1: AIDS Walk & Memorial Service—3:30 pm, Triangle Park (Aggieville) to Congregational Church on Poyntz.
