Get involved in SHAC
Each spring, SHAC solicits applications from interested students for at-large positions.
Print, complete and submit a SHAC Application form [PDF] [HTML] to the SHAC mailbox, Office for Student Activities at the K-State Student Union. The PDF link requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view which may be downloaded for free at www.adobe.com. If you have any problems printing the above document, please e-mail shac@k-state.edu and a copy will be sent to you. Be sure to include your mailing address in your e-mail.
Individuals from all majors are encouraged to apply. In the past, members have represented majors including pre-health professions, liberal arts, agriculture, business, and engineering. The primary requirement for membership is a high level of interest in the effectiveness of student health services. Only those who are concerned about students receiving adequate health care should be involved with this committee.
All applications are reviewed by the Committee chairperson and several SHAC members. Qualified applicants may be asked to interview with a selection panel. SHAC recommends the most qualified applicants to the newly elected Student Body President, who makes the final appointments for two-year terms. New members begin their terms immediately after being appointed by the Student Body President and approved by Student Senate.
